RAPID RHINO device removal protocol

1.

Using gauze, wipe away any visible ooze or blood

Insert a syringe into the luer valve at the anterior end of the pilot cuff to gently withdraw the air

Once the pilot cuff is fully deflated, the RAPID RHINO device may be removed

Pull gently on the exposed, anterior portion of the device

After removing the device:

Advise patients to avoid blowing or picking the nose for two to three days after removal, and provide guidance on what to do if another epistaxis event occurs. Consider whether a vasoconstrictor, antibiotic, or nasal spray is appropriate based on clinical judgment and patient needs.
